Jaxon Evans will contest his first ADAC 24-hour Nürburgring this weekend, 26-29 May, in the #33 Falken Tyres Motorsport Porsche 911 GT3R.
This year marks the 50th running of the race, famous for being one of the most gruelling endurance races in the world, and Evans will team up with codrivers Sven Muller, Patrick Pilet, and Marco Seefried.
“I’m super excited to tick this race off the list,” said Evans. “It’s one of the toughest 24 hr races in the world, and to have the opportunity to compete in the 50th running of the event is amazing.”
Each driver will spend between six and ten hours in the car, depending on strategy, but Evans says he is ready for the challenge both physically and mentally.
“I’ve been focusing a lot on my training outside of the car, and I’m probably at one of my highest levels of fitness.
“Mentally, I’ve been doing a lot of simulation laps during both the day and night to try and get a good mind and muscle connection going. So overall, I’m feeling well-prepared for the task ahead.”
While the 24-hour Nürburgring can be unpredictable, Evans hopes his team will be in contention to finish or for a podium come Sunday afternoon.
“This race and track throw so many variables at you over a 24-hour period. The circuit changes over the course of the race, and the weather, traffic, car reliability, and night time driving all mean things can change dramatically at any time.
“I’m super pumped to be going there for my first attempt, and I hope to see the chequered flag come Sunday afternoon.”
The 24-hour Nürburgring will be held Friday 26 May 2022 – Sunday 29 May 2022, with the race kicking off on Saturday 28 May, at 4pm (CEST).
