Jaxon Evans had barely taken off his race suit at Wanneroo Raceway for Round 4 of the Repco Supercars Championship before jumping on a plane bound for Spa Francorchamps, Belgium.
Evans is heading straight from Perth to Belgium where he will contest the traditional Spa 24 Hours test day later this week, arriving back in Australia for a few days before heading to The Bend for Round 2 of the Fanatec GT Australia.
This all comes off the back of racing in Thailand last week, and a scheduled rookie day test at Queensland Raceway prior to the next round at Supercars at Hidden Valley Raceway, Darwin, in three weeks time.
In just his first year of Supercars, Evans is clocking up frequent flyer miles and seat time behind the wheel of race cars.
Results, however, were not forthcoming at Wanneroo on the weekend, with Evans and his three Brad Jones Racing team-mates struggling for qualifying speed in addition to race pace.
The Kiwi international star finished the two Perth races in 18th place, staying out of trouble, despite some intense battles.
Evans’ next race will be at The Bend for Fanatec GT Australia on May 31-June 2.
The next round of the Repco Supercars Championship will be held at Hidden Valley Raceway on June 14-16.

Evans on busy schedule
“I’ve got a lot to look forward to and a lot of things going on,” said Evans.
“I’m going to Europe tonight (Sunday night) to go to Spa for the 24 Hour test, so my world doesn’t really stop for me and it’s pretty exciting. I’ve got a two-day test at Spa before re-grouping with the Arise Racing GT crew for Fanatec GT Australia.
“It’ll be good to get to The Bend to re-join the team. Hopefully we can taste some success in the Ferrari again.
“It’s really good to have such a busy schedule and I feel it’s the best form of training. Not only in physical training, but being able to adapt and manage tyres, driving all these different cars means I experience the different characteristics. They’re a challenge in their own right, but I quite enjoy swapping in between.
“Any race miles are good miles. I’m just happy to keep myself busy.”

“I obviously knew coming here it’s a short, tight track and the lap times are all close,” said Evans.
“I was pretty happy with how we stacked up when it came to crunch time in qualifying where I felt like I made a pretty reasonable step in my own personal performance, unlocking some speed, or being pretty close to the other competitors around us.
“Obviously, we were not at the right end of the tenth, which doesn’t help around here and our qualifying positions weren’t great. We were able to race forward a little bit and I think the tyre deg that everyone was expecting at this circuit wasn’t as big as what was hoped for us at BJR.
“At BJR, we have confidence in our cars looking after the tyres pretty well, but it wasn’t a strength we couldn’t use this weekend.
“It’s back to the drawing board and we’ll have another test day under the belt to hopefully unlock some more speed – not just for myself, but for the team.
“We’ll keep working away at it and hopefully when we hit Darwin, we’ve got some more ‘secret sauce’ and we can be fighting towards the front where I think we deserve to be.”

“The plan is to head up to Queensland Raceway to get another Rookie Test under the belt before Darwin,” said Evans.
“We feel we learnt a lot more running at Queensland Raceway recently for our first Rookie Test, even though there was only one car running there on the day.”
