Porsche driver Jaxon Evans will get his first taste of racing for 2022 this weekend in NLS3 at Nürburgring Nordschleife, Germany, where he’ll be racing the #3 Falken Motorsport Porsche GT3R.
NLS3 will mark Evans’ first race in the SP9 class, and he’ll be lining up alongside codriver Alessio Picariello.
“I’m looking forward to the first race weekend for me this year; it’s been many months since I last drove in a racing environment,” said Evans.
“It will be a highly competitive field as always, with 160 entries across the multiple classes, and this will be my first race in the top class (SP9).
“I’ve only raced at the Nürburgring twice before, in a Cayman GT4. I sampled some laps on the Nordschleife circuit a few weeks ago with Falken Motorsport, and it was a great opportunity to familiarise myself with the team, the track, and the car.”
Evans’ first race was scheduled for NLS2 on 9 April, but the race was cancelled due to snow and bad weather. Despite the minor setback, Evans’ says he’s prepared well during the off-season and is primed for the weekend.
“Most of my preparation has been off the track, but I’m feeling strong and fit after ramping up the physical side of training in the gym during the long off-season.
“Tyres will be a big working point for us this weekend as we aim to continue the development and ensure we are best prepared for the Nürburgring 24-hour race next month.
“It will also be important for me to gain more experience on this circuit, understanding how to navigate the traffic, pitstop procedures, and everything that comes with racing at this special place.
“Conditions are looking pretty good, and fingers crossed it stays that way; although, it’s the Nürburgring, and anything can happen,” said Evans.
