Racing in the Porsche 911 GT3R for Herberth Motorsport, Evans will join co-drivers Antares Au, Kevin Tse and Dylan Pereira to contest the Pro-Am Cup category.
Evans says he’s thrilled to be challenging some of the best GT drivers and manufacturers in the world at his first 24-hour race at Spa. With a total of 235 drivers to compete across the weekend, the event will host its 74th edition with a huge depth of talent.
“24 Hours of Spa is the biggest GT3 race in the world with a total of 66 entries across nine different manufacturers, so I’m really looking forward to it,” said Evans. “I know I’m in for a super exciting, long, and challenging week ahead.
“With the official test days behind us, we feel well-prepared, and we’re definitely up for the task ahead. We ran through our program, and all felt comfortable with our package at the end of the two-day test.
“This week, the team will focus on the final preparations before we try to put it together and execute a solid race across Saturday and Sunday.
“The Pro-Am class cars are generally not in contention for the outright win, but that doesn’t make our race much easier. If we can survive racing through the night and focus on trying to bring the car home in a good spot, I think we can push for a top three result in our class (Pro-Am).
“In the lead-up to the race, I’ve worked on being as prepared as possible. I’ve spent a few hours in the simulator, concentrated on fine-tuning myself mentally, and been in the gym,” said Evans.
The TotalEnergies 24hrs of Spa will be held Thursday 28 July 2022 – Sunday 31 July 2022, with the race kicking off on Saturday 30 July, at 4:45pm (CEST).
