SCT Logistics has confirmed that Jaxon Evans will drive the SCT Motorsport Camaro in the 2024 Supercars Championship.
Evans shone in his cameos as a co-driver in the SCT Logistics Supercar in the last two years and now makes a step up to full-time driving.
The renowned driver’s career so far is highlighted by both Australian and international achievements and championships and Evans now has Supercars lined up as his next challenge.
In 2018 the 27-year-old claimed his first Championship in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia with six victories to his name over the year.
The result gave the youngster a chance to attend the Porsche Junior Programme Shootout, where he was selected over 11 other drivers from around the world to be promoted to the ‘Porsche Junior’ for the 2019 season.
From there Evans moved to Europe, racing with Porsche across multiple series including the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, where he found himself on pole and the podium twice in his rookie year.
Parallel to his Supercup commitments, Evans secured the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland rookie Championship.
Evans claimed his first European championship and his second Porsche Carrera Cup title when he won Porsche Carrera Cup France in 2020.
In the same year, the young-gun also claimed his first World Endurance Championship (WEC) podium with the Dempsey-Proton Racing team in Bahrain on debut.
2020 also saw Evans reach the podium at the Bathurst 12 Hour for the first time, finishing second in Pro-AM.
His first race win in Porsche Supercup also came amid a hectic 2020, stealing victory at the Red Bull Ring.
The Austrian track proved a happy hunting ground, winning there again in Porsche Supercup in 2021 on his way to second in the championship.
Evans’ campaign in the 2021 WEC GTE AM class, secured him third the year’s standings and a top-five finish in class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
In 2022 Evans won the inaugural Nürburgring 12 hour race in the SP9 (GT3 / outright) class
The highly respected driver has competed in some of the most prestigious motorsport events in the world, from the 24 Hours of Nürburgring to the 24 Hours of Daytona.
Evans has already impressed in a Supercar, his opening stint in the 2023 Sandown 500 saw him steer the SCT Logistics Camaro from 22nd to 14th.
He was also at the reins for the start of the Bathurst 1000, and just as spectacularly made up over 10 positions in the first stint.
In the two-years and three events Evans co-drove the SCT Logistics car, he enjoyed a beneficial partnership with retiring Jack Smith.
The collaborative relationship helped Evans to find his feet so quickly with the guidance of Smith and his extensive knowledge of the category.
While Smith is leaving the Brad Jones Racing team, he has helped to build a solid foundation within the SCT Motorsport program to give Evans the opportunity to hit the ground running.
The signing of Evans is also a major coup and a mark of success for SCT Motorsport, a driver of his calibre now linking forces with the program shows its strength in the motorsport landscape.
The Kiwi driver will be based in Australia as he focuses on the 2024 Supercars campaign amid other racing commitments.
He will get his first opportunity to get in the BJR Camaro at the official Supercars test day on February 7 at Winton Motor Raceway.
The first race of 2024 will be at Mount Panorama for the Bathurst 500 on the February 23-25.
