Double Delight in Sydney for Evans and Schutte

Sydney, NSW (May 5, 2025) – Jaxon Evans and Elliott Schutte delivered a statement performance at Sydney Motorsport Park, sweeping both races in dominant fashion during Round 2 of the GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS. The Arise Racing GT pairing in car #26 claimed pole position in both qualifying sessions and converted their pace into back-to-back victories to cap off a flawless weekend.

The clean sweep marks the pair’s third win in four starts and elevates them to the top of the championship standings as they head into Round 3.

Qualifying got off to a strong start in perfect conditions. After an early tyre change, Evans put together a blistering lap to secure pole in Qualifying 1 moments before a red flag ended the session prematurely. Schutte followed that up with a commanding performance in Qualifying 2, setting the benchmark early and extending his advantage to seal a second consecutive pole.

Saturday night’s Race 1, held under lights, saw Schutte fend off early pressure from Brad Schumacher and reclaim the lead with a bold move at Turn 6. His pace laid the groundwork for a clean handover to Evans, who rejoined the race with a comfortable buffer despite a five-second success penalty. Maintaining a 21.4-second lead, Evans brought the Ferrari home for a commanding win.

On Sunday, Evans opened with another lightning-fast stint, building a strong lead before handing the car to Schutte for the run to the flag. Despite serving a longer pit stop due to Saturday’s win, Schutte emerged in second and hunted down the leader, making the decisive pass with six laps remaining to complete a perfect weekend.

Team Principal Jordan Oon praised the pair’s maturity and precision throughout the event:
“It was a perfect weekend – a clean sweep with double pole and double wins – and I couldn’t be prouder of the team. The amount of preparation and attention to detail that goes into everything they do is huge, and they earned every bit of this result. It was calm, methodical, and totally faultless from start to finish.”

“Elliott and Jaxon are really hitting their stride. They looked confident from the first session, nailed qualifying, and controlled both races with maturity and precision. It’s the kind of performance we’ve come to expect from them – and it’s great to be giving them a package that allows them to deliver at that level.”
